Why display a family-friendly and/or safe for kids site award?
Displaying a family-friendly and/or safe for kids award offers your site instant recognition as being suitable for families and children. This particular award is being offered to visitors on an "honor system" basis. If you feel that your site adheres to the above criteria, you may display it; if not, we respectfully ask that you refrain from using it. Internet safety, especially as it relates to children, is of the utmost importance.
Where to display a family-friendly and/or safe for kids site award?
This award should be proudly displayed somewhere on the "main" page to clearly communicate to all visitors that your site is family-friendly and/or safe for kids. It is understood that this is not always practical for all site layouts. In this case, some secondary display options might be your "about me" or "contact" pages. The location of the award is ultimately your choice, but if it is hidden deep in your site (i.e. "awards" page), it really serves no purpose.
Please follow these instructions to display the award on your site:
1. Leave a comment below stating your intent to use the award, along with the web address of your site and/or the URL of the page where the image will be displayed.
2. Right click on the award above and "Save As" to your computer hard drive. Note: The image is currently a gif file with a transparent background.
3. Upload and post the award to your site, along with a "thank you" text link to the originator, The Booga Wooga & Little Sister Sophia. Use this URL to create the link:
http://akaboogawooga2.blogspot.com/
4. Play It Forward: Link the award back to this "criteria and guidelines" page so your visitors will have access to the information if they want to display the image on their site. Use this URL to create the link:
http://akaboogawooga2.blogspot.com/p/criteria-for-our-site-award.html
5. DO NOT REMOVE THE WEB ADDRESS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE IMAGE because it identifies and links to this site as the official originator of the award.
Thank you!
