Labor Day Weekend

Day 1: Please Touch Museum

Me and my little sister Sophia had a "Super Duper" holiday weekend and we started celebrating a little early this year. On Friday, our Mommy and Daddy took us to the Please Touch Museum. Pop-Pop and Grammy took me there once before when I was 2 years old, but this was my little sister's first time at the museum. Here are a few pics that Mommy took of us riding the carousel with Daddy and my little sister standing in front of something called a "mural" on the wall. She also made a slideshow with the other pics she took while we were there. Me and my little sister had a really great time... Mommy and Daddy had fun too!

Day 2: Smith Playground & Playhouse

On Saturday, our Mommy and Daddy made plans to have some fun on their own, so they packed us up and off we went to spend some time with Pop-Pop and Grammy. This day was also special because it was Grammy's birthday! So, she thought it would be fun if we celebrated her special day at Smith Playground & Playhouse. Me and my little sister have been there before so, we thought it was a really good idea too! We enjoyed the Giant Slide, the playground, all 3 levels of the playhouse, and the new "Tot Lot" that was built last summer. Here are some pics that Grammy took while we were there and we made sure that she had a "Happy Birthday!"

Day 3-Part I: R5 Train Ride to Paoli

We spent Saturday night at Pop-Pop and Grammy's house, so we did some fun stuff on Sunday too! First, we picked-up Mommy and she went out to breakfast with us. After we took her back home, Pop-Pop, Grammy, my little sister, and me rode over to the Overbrook train station and caught the R5 train to a place called Paoli. Anybody who knows me, should also know that I love trains! Pop-Pop and Grammy took me for a ride on the El train before, but this was the first time that me and my little sister ever rode on something called a "regional rail" train. After we got to the Paoli station, we crossed the bridge to the other side and waited for the train that would take us back to where we started. I had a great time on the R5 train and my little sister did too. I really liked watching the trains go by while we waited for the one that would take us back in the direction of home. Day 3-Part II: Bowling @ Wynnewood Lanes

After we got back to Pop-Pop and Grammy's house, me and my little sister actually fell asleep for a little while and took naps on our own. When we got up, we all went out again to a place called Wynnewood Lanes for some bowling. This was actually the second time that Pop-Pop and Grammy took me and my little sister bowling, but Grammy wasn't able to get any pics for my blog the first time because her camera wasn't working right. Well, my Mommy came to the rescue and gave Grammy a new camera for her birthday... so, she was able to take a lot of nice pics when we went this time, as well as all of the pics you see in this entire post. Pop-Pop, Grammy, and me bowled two games, while my little sister cheered all of us on and helped with the balls when they rolled back up to us. Grammy said that she was the best cheerleader ever! Here are some of the pics that Grammy took of us, in between her turns to bowl!

"Happy Labor Day!"

After we finished bowling, Pop-Pop and Grammy picked-up some of our fav foods from McDonald's and took me and my little sister back home. Tomorrow we are looking forward to spending the day with Mommy and Daddy again, chillin' and grillin'. We hope that you and your family have a wonderful Labor Day holiday too!

New Beginnings

Adventures in Day Care

Well, I just made it through the first week at my new day care. Change is always a little scary at first but, if you give it a chance, sometimes things will work out okay. The first big change is that me and Mommy have to ride the bus to day care now. I always liked bus rides so, that was fun. We have to catch two buses to day care and in this pic, we are heading for the corner of the block where we live to catch the first bus.

Grammy left with us on this day and brought the camera so she could take some pics. When we got to the corner, we had to wait a little while for the bus to come so, I sat down while Mommy watched for the bus. The big shadow that you see on the ground is Grammy taking my pic!



After a while, we got off the first bus and in these pics, me and Mommy are waiting for the second bus. This time, there was a place to sit but, I decided to stand up and wait for the bus with Mommy.



When the second bus came, me and Mommy got on it but, Grammy stayed behind because she had to catch a different bus that would take her to work. She had to take this pic really fast but as you know, Grammy has a really quick "trigger finger" with a camera!


After we sat down, Grammy came up close to the window where we were sitting and took this really neat pic of me waving goodbye through the glass. If you look really hard, you can see the outline of me and Mommy in the glass!


At the end of the day, Mommy and Grammy came to pick me up but, Grammy got there first so she could take even more pics. This day care is larger and has more space so, there is plenty of room to play. In these pics, all of the other kids are in another room watching TV so, I had this space all to myself. Grammy also took a pic of the other kids watching TV but, she said it came out too "blurry" (whatever that is) so, she couldn't post it.







There are more kids at this day care and that felt different. Many of them are around my age so, I am looking forward to making a lot of new friends. There are also some older kids that come later in the day when they get out of school. Grammy said that they are there for something called "after care" and she took this pic of them outside in the play area behind the day care.


Grammy told me that Mommy was on her way to come and get me so, I kept watching the door while I played with some toys. Mommy finally got there and in this pic, she is packing up all of my stuff so we can head for home. There's a playground up the street from the day care and we have to pass by it when walk to the bus stop. One afternoon, me and Mommy stopped there for a little while and I got a few slides on the sliding board before we got on the bus.

When Mommy dropped me off at day care this week, I got sad and cried when she left to go to work and at other times during the day. There were so many new faces around me that I didn't know and I guess I just wanted to cling to the one face that I did know. Ms. Rose, Ms. Edie, Ms. Khalisa, and Ms. Linda are all very nice to me and the kids are really friendly too so, as the week went on, I played with them more and with each passing day, I cried a little less than I did the day before.

A lot has changed but, I think I'm going to like this day care. Every Tuesday is "arts and crafts", which I liked a lot at my old day care. Every Wednesday is something called "show and tell" so, I can bring one of my favorite toys to play with on that day. This week, I took my Thomas train. Every Thursday is "art day" and every Friday, we have something called a "picnic lunch". I get to carry my new Cars backpack and Thomas & Friends lunch bag everyday, just like the big kids going to school. I also have to take my Winnie-the-Pooh sleeping bag every Monday for naptime during the week and every Friday, I have to take it home so Mommy can wash it.

My Grammy won't be picking me up everyday anymore but, she promised to come and get me if Mommy can't do it. She also said that she would take me out for rides in my red car sometimes on Saturday afternoons. And, I guess my Pop-Pop won't be able to just show up and surprise me anymore either but, that's okay. I really like the bus rides with Mommy in the morning and afternoon so, I'm happy that we can do that together.

Another Fun Place To Go!

America's Favorite Family Fun Park

My Great Uncle Andy & Aunt Wanda invited all of us to go with them yesterday to a really fun place called "Knoebels" in Elysburg, PA. We had to drive for a pretty good while to get there but, it was worth the trip. There were lots of people, all kinds of rides, a big campground with something called "log cabins", a large picnic area, and everything that you could ever want to eat and drink. There is another large area with holes and poles stuck in the ground called a "golf course". Grammy said that you can play a game called "golf" there but, what is it?

Anyhoo, we went to the "Kiddie Park" first when we got there. I rode on something called a "pirate ship" with my Mommy, a "balloon" ride with Pop-Pop and Grammy, and a "jet plane" ride all by myself... that was my favorite! My Mommy and Aunt Wanda got on some rides together too. They screamed a lot but, it looked like they were having a lot of fun. My Mommy's favorite ride was something called the "Sklooosh". It was a boat that rode down a hill real fast and made a big splash in the water when it got to the bottom of the ride. After Mommy and Aunt Wanda rode on that, it was time to get in the water!

We all went to another area of the park that had a "Crystal Pool", a "Kiddie Pool", and water rides. I wasn't old enough to get on any of the water rides so, Pop-Pop and Grammy stayed with me at the kiddie pool until my Mommy, Uncle Andy, and Aunt Wanda came back. At first, I wasn't sure if I wanted to get in the water at all because it was cold so, I just ran around the edge of the pool for a while until I was ready to get in it. When all of the adults came back from the water rides, everyone played with me in the kiddie pool until it was time to get something to eat. After we all had some food, we looked for more rides to get on.

By this time, it was getting dark and all of the rides had bright colorful lights that glowed in the dark. Pop-Pop and Grammy rode with me on a giant carousel... Pop-Pop rode all around the park with me on a choo-choo train... and Pop-Pop and Uncle Andy rode with me in a car. There were two really big rides at the park called "roller coasters". One was named the "Twister" and the other one was named the "Phoenix". Both of them were really fast and made a lot of noise. I couldn't get on them either because I was too little so, I just watched and waited with Pop-Pop and Grammy while Mommy, Uncle Andy, and Aunt Wanda rode on them. Then, my Mommy and Aunt Wanda got on one last ride before we left the park called the "Fandango".

Thank you Uncle Andy and Aunt Wanda for taking us with you. We really had a fun day at Knoebels and I hope that we can go back again next summer. Maybe we can stay for the weekend in one of those "log cabin" things. My Mommy, Grammy, and Uncle Andy had their cameras for this trip so, there were lots of pics taken. Weekend Pass

This past weekend, we spent some time with Grammy and Pop-Pop and here are the pics that Grammy took while we were with them. On Saturday, we just chilled around the house most of the day and went bowling in the late afternoon. We only got a chance to bowl for 30 minutes because a big party was coming in and all the lanes were needed. So, Grammy didn't waste any time taking pics... we just took turns bowling as fast as we could! My little sister is tall enough to push the bowling ball off the kiddie stand now just like me, so she played too!



On Sunday, we all got up and went to church. After that, we had lunch at a diner called "Ruby's". I really liked this place a lot because they had trains running around the ceiling! I can't remember ever being in a restaurant with trains on the ceiling before and it was fun watching them while we ate our lunch. My little sister liked them too because she would point at them, smile, and say, "See!", every time they came around to where we were eating.



After we finished our lunch, we walked to the car so we could go back to Grammy and Pop-Pop's house. Before we got in it, Grammy decided that she wanted to take some pics of us in our "Sunday Best". Me and my little sister played around in front of the camera for a while, but Grammy was able to get two shots of us before we left. The color pics in the middle of each collage are the original photos, and then she took those pics and created the others at home. You can click on each collage for a larger view.



When we got back to the house, we played and watched TV for a few more hours. After we ate dinner, it was time for us to pack up our stuff and go back home to Mommy and Daddy. We missed them and we know that they missed us too. The house was probably too quiet without us, so we had to get back and do what we do best!
