Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving Dinner

Family, Friends, Food, & Fun!

I had dinner at my Great Grandmother Pumpkin Pie's house, just like I did last year. This time, I actually ate food instead of my Elmo toy. It's funny how much your taste buds can change in one year.

Of course, my Mommy was there too.

My Pop-Pop drove us to Pumpkin Pie's house. He stopped in for a few minutes and a quick bite to eat. Then, off he went to pick up my Great Uncle Andy so they could have dinner at my Great Nana Faye's house.

When dinner was over, me and Mommy just chilled in the living room for a while and watched some TV while Pumpkin Pie and Grammy talked in the kitchen.

"Hello. Who's calling?"

"Pumpkin Pie, telephone!"

When we left Pumpkin Pie's house, Mommy took me to visit my Great Grandparents Mama & Pop-Pop. Aunt Ronnie, Trylanna, Early Jr., and Aaron were there too! From there, we were off to see my Godmomie Latoya and Godpopie Justin.Photographer I also got a chance to spend time with my Godmomie Latoya's aunt and her family. After that, it was time to head for home.

It was a busy day...there were lots of smiles, hugs, and kisses everywhere we went. Of course, I just loved every minute of the attention I got! Pop-Pop came back smiling from Great Nana Faye's house and said they had a good time there too. He brought back lots of food and said no one would have to cook for a while. We all had a really nice Thanksgiving and hope you did too!

TO: All Of Our Family & Friends...

Happy Turkey Day!
From Pop-Pop, Grammy, Mommy, & Me

Today, we all went over to my Great Grandmother Pumpkin Pie's house to eat Thanksgiving dinner. This was the third Thanksgiving that I spent at my great grandmother's house and I always have a nice time there. She makes the best turkey wings that I ever tasted but this time, she also made some spare ribs that were really good too. Of course, when I first got there, eating was the last thing on my mind because I just wanted to play. But, everybody made it quite clear that I had to eat first and I wasn't getting up from the table until I finished!

After we ate dinner, me and Mommy went to visit my other Great Grandmother Mama and Great Grandfather Pop-Pop. While we were at their house, my Great Aunt Ronnie stopped by with her kids, my Cousins Trylanna, Early Jr., and Aaron. I guess I don't have to tell you that when they got there, we turned the house "upside down" running and playing together. I'm only sorry that we forgot to take the camera and left it at Pumpkin Pie's house so, we didn't get to take any pics... bummer! But, I had a really good time with my cousins just the same and I didn't want to leave when it was time to go home.

All in all, I would have to say that I had a pretty good Thanksgiving Day. By the time I got back home, I was all played out and fell asleep in no time so, Grammy slipped into the room and took this pic of me. If anybody were to ask me, I guess the thing that I am most thankful for is my family and I hope that you and your family had a fun-filled Thanksgiving Day too. Tomorrow is something called "Black Friday" and I need to get my rest so I can get up early and go to the mall tomorrow. Sweet dreams!!!

Inner City Blues (Make Ya Wanna Holler?)

Sweat

I'm b-a-c-k! I know I've been missing in action for a while but that's because Mommy said it was too hot to do anything except stay inside under something called an "air conditioner". I don't really know what that is but I know it made us feel nice and cool. It was so hot that I even learned how to say the word "hot"! Anyhoo, I'll try to bring you up to speed on some of the goings on since my last post.

I saw the doc for my 18 month check-up a while ago. He said that I weighed 25 lbs + 6 ozs and I'm 31 inches tall (it's a been a while since I've reported my stats). He asked my Mommy if I was doing things like talking, feeding myself, and climbing stairs. I've been talking for a while now but no one seems to know what I'm saying. People want me to repeat what they call "real" words but I'm a leader, not a follower...they should repeat after me! I can feed myself too but I have to work on the mess that I make when I do it. I really like climbing the stairs but I'm only allowed to do it when someone is behind me, which doesn't do much for my sense of accomplishment!

I had another play date with Cousin Miles. We had a great time splashing around in his pool and he has a really neat water table that was a lot of fun too. I got a chance to see Cousin Ryan for a little while before he went to work (he's something called a "fireman", you know). Cousin Melanie and my Mommy had a chance to do whatever it is mommies do when their boys are busy playing. Cousin Arlene stopped by and that was a nice surprise...she gave me a really cool t-shirt that came all the way from a place called "Texas" (Thank You)!

On the day care front, Ms. Bea and Nyeisha had something called a "graduation" for the kids who will be leaving and starting school in September. Day care was closed that day to all the rest of us so, I didn't get a chance to see it or say goodbye to anyone. So, I wanna give something called a "shout out" to Deante and William who have been my friends since I started day care at 2 months old...you always looked out for me and I'm going to miss you. I hope you will come back and visit sometime. I also skipped day care again and had another "Thank God It's Friday!" with Godmomie Latoya.

We all went to visit my Great Grandmother Pumpkin Pie yesterday. It's been a little while since I've been to her house and there was a lot to see and explore. Of course, I was messing with everything in sight and heard the words "NO!" and "STOP!" more times than I can count. (What's the deal with numbers anyway?) We had a hoagiefest and Pumpkin Pie put on some music so we all could dance. I had a really good time but, the best was yet to come.

After everyone over 18 months was too tired to dance anymore, my Pop-Pop took me for a walk. At the end of the block, there was a house on the corner that just looked different on the outside from all the others. It was like we had stepped into another world...the house was surrounded by trees, big plants, rocks, running water, and a fish pond! It was fun watching the fish and I didn't want to leave. When we got back to Pumpkin Pie's house, we told Grammy about it and went back with the camera to take some pics.

Well, that's all for now...it's time for me to get back under that thing called an "air conditioner". Stay cool and I'll talk to you soon!

Gone Fishin'

Inner City Peace... Revisited

Now that I'm all rested from the vacation and back to my regular routine, me and Grammy are ready to start blogging again...

Today, after Grammy picked me up from day care and Pop-Pop and Mommy got home from work, we all went to visit my Great Grandmother Pumpkin Pie and her sister, my Great Aunt Dorothy. She came all the way from a place called Jacksonville, FL to spend a week with Pumpkin Pie and she will be going home tomorrow. She told me that she came here on a train and you know how much I like trains! I wish I could ride with her when she goes back home on the train but, I know that my Mommy, Grammy, and Pop-Pop would miss me too much so, it was nice just hearing about it. We had a nice visit and it gave us a chance to say "bye-bye" to her before she had to leave.

After we left Pumpkin Pie's house and before we got in the car to go home, we went to the end of the block to see the special house with the fish pond again. I remember seeing it for the first time last summer and how much I liked it. No one was home when we stopped by last year but this time, we got a chance to meet the man who owned the house. He was very nice and he let Grammy (and Mommy) take his pic and more pics of the fish pond. He told us that he is going to add a waterfall to the outside of the house real soon and I can't wait to go back and see it!

TO: All Of Our Family & Friends...

Today, me and my little sister had Thanksgiving dinner with our Great Grandmother "Pumpkin Pie" at her house. Mommy, Daddy, Grammy, and Pop-Pop were there too. The food was great and after dinner, we played with our toys while the grown-ups talked, watched TV, and took "cat naps". Me and my little sister haven't been to Pumpkin Pie's house in a while, so we did a lot of exploring while we were there too. It was nice to visit with her again and we had a good time. Here are some of the pics that Mommy and Grammy took while we were there and you can click on the collages for a larger view...

We hope you and your family had a nice Thanksgiving too!

PRAYER FOR CHILDREN

Lord Jesus, You were never too busy to pay attention to children, for You dearly loved them. We are happy that you love us and that You have time to listen to our prayers and to answer them. We thank You that You have made us Your own. As we get bigger and stronger every day, help us to grow stronger in our faith too. Bless our parents, whom You have given to us, and help us to respect and obey them, to love and treasure them. Forgive us when we disobey them or when we fail to respect them as Your previous gifts to us. Give them the wisdom to train us in the good and right way. Bless our home and every member of our family with a strong faith in You and true love to one another. Teach us to be kind, unselfish, helpful, cheerful, forgiving, and faithful in our duties. Help us to be like You, Lord Jesus, to grow in wisdom and character and in favor with God and all people. Send Your angels to watch over us, to keep us from all harm of body and soul. Bless us, and make us a blessing to our family and friends. Amen.

Thank you for stopping by and come back again!
